Built with Leupold's Diamondcoat lens coating for enhanced durability and light transmission, the scope is both waterproof and fogproof to perform reliably in challenging weather conditions. The second focal plane reticle maintains its apparent size across the magnification range.

The VX-Freedom features 1/4 MOA click adjustments with 60 MOA of elevation and windage travel. This specific model comes pre-calibrated for 450 Bushmaster with a factory-installed dial, allowing for quick elevation corrections without holdover. An adjustable objective parallax is set at 150 yards for optimal accuracy.

Optical specifications include a field of view from 33.7 feet at 3x magnification down to 13.6 feet at 9x at 100 yards, with eye relief ranging from 4.17 to 3.66 inches. The matte black finish provides low-reflectivity protection in the field.
