Taurus G2C Review First Thoughts:
The Taurus G2C is a inexpensive yet extremely fun firearm for the everyday shooter or those looking for their first firearm. While the G2C is a inexpensive firearm do not let the price fool you, the quality to price value is excellent for this firearm. The PT111 was released in 2013 to replace the previous line of Millennium Pro pistols. While much of the design replicates the original Millennium Pro pistol the firearms is a much more reliable version of its past self.
The Taurus G2c has gone through a few different versions but the current model is a great pistol for your money. The original PT111 had some issues that they seemed to have worked out in the new G2C while keeping the look and price point in check. While some believe they just took the easy route and just renamed a old firearm they did rework and fix some known quality issues from before.
G2C Design Details:
The Taurus is a modern double-stack semi-automatic pistol with an impressive magazine capacity. It comes standard with 10+1 or 12+1 capacity factory magazines. For those desiring even more firepower, the aftermarket offers a wide range of high-capacity magazines including 15-round, 32-round extended, and even 50-round drum magazines for this platform.
The Taurus features an ergonomic polymer frame with textured grip panels precisely designed to provide shooters with a secure and comfortable grip. This enhances control and facilitates rapid target reacquisition. A Picatinny rail is integrated into the frame’s front underside, providing a sturdy mounting point for attaching accessories such as tactical lights or laser sighting devices.
The Taurus G2C is available in both 9mm and 40S&W version giving the shooter a choice in caliber.
Taurus offers the pistol with a variety of color and finish options to suit personal preferences. Frame colors include black, olive drab, grey, and flat dark earth, while slide options are classic matte black or stainless steel. Sighting is provided by an adjustable rear sight paired with a fixed high-visibility front sight.
This is a striker-fired pistol with a relatively light 6-7 pound trigger pull weight for the initial press, promoting accuracy. However, it still includes a trigger safety and manual frame-mounted thumb safety for carry purposes. These integrated safeties allow secure carrying while still delivering a smooth, crisp trigger pull when intentionally disengaged.
The combination of high magazine capacity, accessory rail, and ambidextrous controls make the Taurus suitable for civilian applications. Its robust polymer construction and intelligent ergonomics back up its performance capabilities.
